Cement Types and Specifications

At Kilava GmbH, we supply a carefully selected portfolio of high-quality cement products designed for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects. All products comply with EN 197-1 and are accompanied by CE certification and full technical documentation.

Portland Cement Type I (CEM I – Strength classes: 32.5, 42.5, 52.5)

General-purpose cement suitable for a wide range of structural and civil applications.

  • Properties: High early strength, good workability
  • Applications: Residential buildings, precast components, pavements, foundations

Portland Cement Type I (CEM I)

General-Purpose Cement

Portland Cement Type I is a pure and unblended cement, commonly known as CEM I, and is the most widely used type of cement in general construction. It is characterized by high early strength and good workability, making it suitable for a wide variety of standard applications.

Available Strength Classes: 32.5, 42.5, 52.5
Packaging: Bulk, 50kg bags, jumbo bags

Applications:

  • Residential and commercial buildings
  • Foundations and slabs
  • Precast concrete components
  • Pavements, beams, and columns
  • Reinforced concrete works not exposed to aggressive environments

Properties:

  • High compressive strength
  • Rapid setting and hardening (especially in class 52.5)
  • Excellent adhesion with aggregates
  • Stable performance in temperate climates

Portland Cement Type II (CEM I / CEM II – Strength classes: 32.5, 42.5)

Recommended for projects requiring moderate sulfate resistance and lower heat of hydration.

  • Properties: Lower heat evolution, suitable for thicker sections
  • Applications: Dams, mass concrete, retaining walls

Portland Cement Type II (CEM I / CEM II)

Moderate Sulfate Resistance & Lower Heat of Hydration

Type II cement is designed for applications requiring moderate resistance to sulfates and reduced heat generation. It is often manufactured as CEM I with specific composition, or as CEM II (blended with limestone or other additives).

Available Strength Classes: 32.5, 42.5
Packaging: Bulk, 50kg bags, jumbo bags

Applications:

  • Mass concrete structures (e.g. dams, retaining walls)
  • Foundations in slightly aggressive soils
  • Civil engineering structures where temperature control is important
  • Large-scale pours to reduce cracking risk

Properties:

  • Reduced risk of thermal cracking
  • Improved sulfate resistance (compared to Type I)
  • Slower setting time, suitable for warm climates or mass pours
  • Stable long-term strength development

Sulfate-Resistant Cement (Type V) (CEM I SR – Strength classes: 42.5, 52.5)

Designed for environments with high sulfate exposure.

  • Properties: High durability, low permeability
  • Applications: Sewage networks, marine works, foundations in saline or aggressive soils

Sulfate-Resistant Cement (Type V / CEM I SR)

For Aggressive and Saline Environments

This cement is specifically engineered for use in environments exposed to high sulfate concentrations, including marine areas, sewage systems, and saline groundwater. Typically produced as CEM I with sulfate-resistant clinker, it offers enhanced chemical durability.

Available Strength Classes: 42.5, 52.5
Packaging: Bulk, 50kg bags, jumbo bags

Applications:

  • Marine and port structures
  • Underground structures in saline soils
  • Sewage and wastewater treatment systems
  • Foundations exposed to chemical attack
  • Infrastructure in arid or coastal regions

Properties:

  • High resistance to sulfate corrosion
  • Low tricalcium aluminate (C3A) content
  • Long-term durability in aggressive environments
  • Low permeability and minimal chemical reactivity

Clinker

High-quality clinker available for grinding and cement production.

  • Applications: Cement mills, bulk resellers, grinding units

Clinker:

Clinker is the intermediate product of cement manufacturing and the main component of most types of cement. Kilava GmbH supplies high-quality clinker for cement factories and grinding units that produce various grades of cement for local and export markets.

Packaging: Bulk, available in shipload quantities

Specifications:

  • Produced from selected raw materials with consistent composition
  • Suitable for grinding into CEM I, CEM II, and SR cement types
  • Low free lime and controlled mineral phases
  • Available with chemical analysis and test certificates

Applications:

  • Cement manufacturing and blending
  • Bulk export for grinding and resale
  • Regional distribution hubs
